Access Back-End Updater - Welcome

Access Back-End Updater (ABEU) is a free, open-source utility for Microsoft Access Applications that will automatically update your back-end tables and relationships whenever your front-end is updated.

How does it work?

ABEU stores a DataFileVersion property in your data file. When you update your front-end application, ABEU checks to see if this DataFileVersion is in sync with the front-end. If it is out of date, the front-end will run create/rename/delete any tables, fields, and properties necessary to be compatible with the front-end. ABEU will then update the back-end DataFileVersion property to match the front-end.

What does it cost?

ABEU is free software, released under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 United States License. This means you can modify it, redistribute it, and use it in your own applications (commercial and non-commercial) free of charge as long as you credit me as the original author. If you wish to remove the copyright notice in your software, please contact me.

How do I use it in my application?

Just drag and drop the required modules into your application, and then create your update scripts to keep your data file in-sync with your front-end.
